Job Description
Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full-time Client Compliance Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring that the legal billing practices adhere to Firm's policies, industry standards, and client agreements. The position will be based in Houston or Washington DC and will report to the Client Compliance Manager. Salary range: $82,000 – 92,000; actual salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities Manage and maintain client compliance databases and documentation
Coordinate onboarding of new clients, including intake of billing requirements and compliance documentation
Monitor adherence to client-specific billing rules; update templates and billing instructions as needed
Liaise between legal teams, billing partners, and eBilling teams to ensure proper implementation of billing formats
Assist with invoice preparation, submission, and error resolution across multiple platforms (e.g., CounselLink, Serengeti, Legal Tracker)
Generate compliance reports and contribute to client audits and internal reviews
Collaborate with attorneys, billing staff, and client contacts to resolve discrepancies
Assist Billing Coordinators with prebill edits, creating and editing bill drafts, and processing invoices and write-offs
Maintain and update special billing arrangements related to billing attorneys\' clients and matters (e.g., Fixed Fee amounts)
Review billing support documentation and verify descriptions, amounts, rates, client/matter date and other billing requirements
Assist Legal Secretaries with updating and maintaining billing-related documentation
Provide administrative support as needed (e.g., providing client invoice copies for auditing, pulling disbursement backup, filing documents in iManage)
Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications 2-4 years of relevant legal billing compliance experience
Experience in a law firm or professional services environment
Proven track record of providing superior client service and building rapport with internal and external clients
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands
Strategic, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail with initiative to identify and resolve issues
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, e-billing software, and document management systems
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment within a team
Willingness to comply with the Firm\'s Agile Working Policy (office presence at least three days per calendar week)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
