General Purpose: Responsible for the management and supervision of all areas assigned by the Store Manager and follows policies regarding Customers, Associates and merchandising. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager leads the entire operation to ensure company standards and best practices are consistently met. Responsibilities
Leads all Company Best Practices and maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working. Assists in the analysis of store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall store performance. Communicates variances to Company standards to the Store Manager. Ensures proper scheduling of Associates to meet business objectives. Ensures compliance with all state, local and federal regulations. Ensures scheduling and completion of all Associate cleaning tasks throughout the store, including restrooms. Accepts special assignments as directed by Leadership. Responsible for payroll administration including daily punch edits, scheduling compliance and payroll reporting as needed. Organizational Development
Assists in recruiting, hiring, training and developing non-exempt Associates. Ensures compliance with Ross personnel policies and procedures. Assists with Associate relations issues by communicating incidents to the Store Manager or District Manager as needed. Expense Control
Assists in managing and monitoring actual expenditures to stay within budget. Controls payroll hours to align with plan and current business trends. Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment
Understands safety is a priority and promotes safe behaviors. Ensures all Associates understand and can execute emergency operating procedures. Maintains adherence to safety policies and ensures safety of Associates and Customers. Facilitates monthly safety meetings. Customer Service
Treats Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect. Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognizes Associates via company programs. Executes customer service programs and merchandise presentation through training and supervision. Supervises and coaches Associates in providing efficient and friendly service at registers, service desks, fitting rooms, and on the sales floor. Personal And Store Brand
Represents and supports the Company brand at all times. Maintains a professional appearance per Company Dress Code and reinforces it. Maintains a clean, neat, easy-to-shop store environment. Ensures housekeeping standards and coordinates with maintenance personnel. Manages scheduling and completion of store cleaning tasks, including restrooms. Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing
Ensures recovery, sizing and markdowns are completed to Company standards; trains and assigns tasks accordingly. Ensures merchandise is presented and organized per guidelines. Manages merchandise processing to the sales floor within the expected timeframe. Loss Prevention
Assists with training on Loss Prevention awareness and store shortage goals. Demonstrates integrity and safeguards confidential information and merchandise. Follows Loss Prevention programs and leads annual inventory processes. Monitors policy for out-of-stock items and maintains PVM system adherence. Competencies

Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in retail. Ability to supervise, motivate and communicate positively to Associates at all levels. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, direct and follow through to completion. Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment. Maintain high quality of customer service. Fluency in English. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail. Physical Requirements
Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of shift. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and stoop; occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs. Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders as required. Supervisory Responsibilities
