LEAD TEACHER - 4K EXTENDED DAY
Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
Plan and implement individual educational plans for children, supporting their development socially, intellectually, linguistically, physically, and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development.
Provide early learning experiences in social-emotional development, literacy, language, mathematics, sciences, social studies, physical education, fine arts, foreign language, and other subject matters suited to the needs of children.
Develop and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment conducive to the development and personal growth of children.
Prepare classroom materials and resources for educational activities.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Use relevant technology to support instruction.
Observe and evaluate students' performance and development.
Maintain accurate classroom and child data records.
Encourage and monitor individual student progress.
Update all necessary records in accordance with laws, district policies, and school regulations.
Collaborate regularly with the classroom teacher and Education Director to review data, develop action plans, and support goal achievement.
Participate in department and school meetings, as well as parent meetings.
Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
Stay updated on developments in subject areas, teaching resources, and methods, and incorporate relevant changes into instructional plans.
Work with the interdisciplinary team to fulfill job duties.
Promote and support positive behavior environments.
Encourage pro-social behaviors and interactions among students and staff.
Support and participate in behavior management programs.
Attend in-service training, staff meetings, and seminars as needed.
Serve as a role model for students, maintaining values such as integrity, respect, dignity, self-control, and respect for others.
Participate in reflective supervision with the Education Director.
Implement programming in accordance with performance standards and funding requirements.
Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment, conduct daily health and environment checks, and properly maintain equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in early childhood or related field from an accredited institution (NYS certification preferred). Study plan accepted.
Master’s degree with certification is $68,652/year.
