We are looking for a Youth Archery Instructor to provide instruction and support to enrolled recreational youth participants. The instructor will be responsible for developing lesson plans, providing feedback to youth participants, and supporting the upkeep of the recreational facilities and outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
Assist with check-in and check-out procedures. Look for ways to improve the program and share them with a supervisor. Ensure campers have safe and appropriate equipment, facilities, and supplies. Keep equipment, binder, and supplies in order, well maintained, and in the proper location. Complete and submit paperwork accurately. Accept feedback and makes necessary corrections. Program Instruction & Facilitation
Develop youth participant's interest in archery using games to allow them to learn in a fun and friendly environment. Instruct youth participants in the basics of USAA NTS form. Assist in keeping a safe archery range and monitoring youth participants to ensure they are conducting themselves in a manner that will help prevent injury. Ensure that youth participants are provided with a safe and accepting environment. Assist with equipment set up before each class and with equipment takedown after each class. Assist in running organized and well-executed activities. Actively engage with all youth participants. Required Qualifications
Prior experience with archery; preferably in an athletic, teaching, or leadership role. Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and employ reasoning skills. At least a Level 1 NTS coaching certification. Has knowledge of Youth Recreation Programs, program planning/development, program structures, basic classroom management, and youth learning styles. Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit, and creative thinking skills. Basic skills in computer programs relevant to job duties. Must be able to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Background Check. Must be able to work effectively, across all organization levels, internally and externally. Current American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric CPR, AED, First-Aid, Epi-Pen + Asthma certification. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of campus policies and procedures. High school diploma or equivalent certification. Some college or Associate Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree. This is a 9-month, part-time (12 hours/week), contract appointment, not eligible for UC benefits. The budgeted hourly range is $21.50 to $22.00.
