State of Connecticut , Department of Labor (DOL) — Workplace Standards Unit — is currently recruiting for multiple
Wage and Hour Investigator 1
positions located in Wethersfield, CT. These positions are in our Wage and Workplace Standards Unit. In this role the incumbents will be entrusted to conduct investigations into employers’ compliance with minimum wage and hour laws in the applicable county. Position Highlights Full-time | 40 hours per week Monday — Friday What We Can Offer You Professional growth and paid professional development opportunities. In your role as a Wage and Hour Investigator 1, you will have the opportunity to : Audit payroll and time records of employers for compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws and regulations; Investigate complaints and interview employees, employers and other persons or agencies concerning complaints; Collect statistical data in surveys of wage rates and hours worked in various occupations and industries; Initiate and conduct fact finding conferences; Transcribe claims for wages when such as found due under existing laws; Prepare reports and assemble evidence for hearings or court cases; Conduct cost of living surveys as required; Perform related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of experience in labor management relations involving rates of pay, hours of work, conditions of employment and regulations of wages OR with payroll, timekeeping or accounting practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience researching, interpreting, and consulting on CT labor laws and regulations, and employment practices. Experience gathering and documenting written and verbal information. Experience collecting and codifying numerical data.
