Water/ Wastewater Area Health & Safety (H&S) Specialist – Pembroke Pines, FL. Jacobs is seeking a highly motivated H&S Specialist to join our team in Pembroke Pines, FL and support other Florida utility projects. The role involves development, implementation, and administration of safety, health, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection programs. Responsibilities

Perform assessments of Health & Safety performance of projects within their area of responsibility and generate reports with recommendations for improvement. Review and assist with training of operations personnel; coordinate and provide training. Ensure an overall improving trend for key safety metrics in their area of responsibility (e.g., TRIR, DART, RTW program implementation). Communicate gaps in Health & Safety programs if they are not corrected in a timely manner. Maintain knowledge of specialty areas (OSHA 1910 & 1926, etc.) and perform onsite audits to ensure regulatory compliance. Execute moderately complex technical work across Health & Safety disciplines to achieve compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Work under general direction and independently develop approaches to solutions; implement field and office HS&E programs and occupational safety and health regulation in regional operations. Monitor and prevent chemical, physical, and biological hazards and diseases in the workplace. Act as a lead or technical expert when needed and provide direction to less experienced personnel. Conduct regular walk-through inspections and investigations in accordance with legal requirements. Collaborate with site management on procedural rollouts and site compliance. Identify and resolve hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions and ensure corrections are made. Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents; collect data, photographs, and prepare required forms and reports; issue permits as required; conduct industrial hygiene samplings (e.g., gas, noise) to ensure safe conditions. Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor. Qualifications

Required

BS degree plus 5 years of full-time Health & Safety experience, or 7 years of full-time Health & Safety experience in lieu of the degree. Experience in construction and general industry environments. Experience in managing and conducting safety training presentations. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel 25% per year. Valid driver’s license with no major infractions. Ideally, You\'ll Also Have

Degree in environmental science, engineering, industrial hygiene, safety, or related field. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. CSP/ASP/SMP/STS/OHST preferred. Interpersonal and personnel management skills; experience with regulatory compliance and federal, state, and local agency requirements for Water Resource Recovery facilities. Salary & Benefits

The base pay range is $89,400.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience; discuss with your recruiter for details. Typically indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to elements, noise, machinery, confinement, heights, chemicals, and other hazards. Safety equipment is mandatory when required.
