Institutional Data Analyst . The Institutional Data Analyst will manage, analyze, and report on key data sets for internal stakeholders as well as support data collection and automation for external compliance. Job Summary : Marist University is seeking applications for a dedicated Institutional Data Analyst. The Institutional Data Analyst will manage, analyze, and report on key data sets for internal stakeholders as well as support data collection and automation for external compliance. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Data, Research, and Planning this position will also assist in tracking operational performance and setting strategic goals while collaborating cross-divisionally at Marist. Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Education, or a related field. 1 - 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in data analysis, preferably within a higher education context and with Ellucian Banner. Strong proficiency in writing SQL code (MySQL, Oracle) and using data extraction tools. Understanding of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI). Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights effectively. Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to data integrity. Essential Functions : Data Reporting and Analysis: Create, maintain, and deliver data reports/extracts from student information system and institutional data warehouse for internal/external reporting (enrollment, retention, IPEDS, NYSED, program assessment, etc.). Data Collection, Management, and Cleaning: Collect and organize data from various institutional systems, including Banner and institutional data warehouse, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Collaboration and Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with academic departments, admissions, data science, and institutional research teams to identify data needs, support presentation or reporting, and provide actionable insights when necessary. Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform special projects, benchmarking, and analyses as needed to address specific institutional challenges and inform decision-making. Qualitative Research and Evaluation: Analyze survey data related to student feedback, alumni outcomes, and faculty evaluations. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications : Master’s degree preferred. Possess basic knowledge of higher education. Experience with compliance reporting and surveys for higher education (IPEDS, NYSED, US News, etc.).
