As a Harness Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be part of the system integration team, reporting to the System Integration Engineering Manager. The team is a small group of highly motivated engineers designing, integrating, testing, and flying advanced mechanical and electrical systems. The harness engineer role is highly cross-functional, involving collaboration with avionics, mechanical, integration, and production teams. You will be responsible for designing, building, integrating, and testing harnesses, enclosures, and mounting hardware, gaining broad design and application experience.
Responsibilities
You will work with the avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define harnessing designs, including routing, component selection, and manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities include detailed design of flight and test harnesses, and working with technicians and A&Ps to build and install harnesses on aircraft. You will have the opportunity to design, install, and test hardware on remotely operated aircraft, playing a key role in hardware integration on our airplanes. Basic Success Criteria
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience 2+ years experience in electrical harness design Ability to route harnessing both in CAD and physically in aircraft Experience with connectors, backshells, EMI shielding, and cable protection methods Preferred Success Criteria
Experience defining routing and bulkhead requirements Experience with aerospace flight harnesses design trades and detail design Experience with NX routing and Capital Harness Designer Experience with safety-critical hardware and certification projects Experience testing hardware to DO-160 requirements A passion for spatial packaging Logical, inquisitive, eager to teach and learn We are a growing, motivated, fast-paced team of aviation professionals. The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $168,000 annually, plus stock options, benefits, and other perks. We offer competitive compensation based on experience, expertise, and market conditions.
