Overview
The Real-time Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting Sony Torchlight’s Virtual Production and visualization and publishing toolset. This includes creating ShotGrid integrations for Nuke, Unreal, and Maya, and building render farm automations for DCCs. The engineer will be an API wizard focused on improving user experience and UI development. This role collaborates with the Pipeline Technical Director, Virtual Production Supervisor and Producers to architect a state-of-the-art pipeline that empowers filmmakers and artists with cutting-edge technical tools and seamless user experiences. This role is limited term up to 6 months. Responsibilities
Develop and support tools for visualization, motion capture, real-time rendering, virtual camera workflows, and publishing QT’s and EXRs based on production specifications. Work closely with artists and production in all departments on tool creation in a fast-paced environment. Facilitate and advise on data I/O Support rendering efforts, including debugging render issues Train and support supervisors/artists with use of this pipeline and its tools QA tools being developed internally Essential Skills
Highly adaptable with a strong post-production background Ability to write adaptable code for changing needs; comfortable with redesigning deliverable products for each new production Python / C++ development skills Familiarity with filmmaking pipelines, data I/O, DCC compatibility, and color pipelines Strong and proven communication and problem-solving skills Experience working with Nuke, After Effects and other DCC software Experience working in a software development team and collaborating with artists and production Experience creating tools and scripts for Nuke and Deadline; After Effects, Maya and Unreal scripting experience is a plus Solid knowledge of post-production, VFX and animation production and its iteration process Desire to learn, take on increasingly challenging work, and a love of new and emerging technologies Software Knowledge

The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, certifications or other professional licenses, and location.
