Ab Initio Developer [Local candidates preferred]
We are seeking a skilled Ab Initio Developer to design, develop, and maintain data processing solutions using Ab Initio software. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies to support our organization’s data needs.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement scalable ETL workflows and data integration solutions using Ab Initio.
Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to understand data requirements and design appropriate solutions.
Optimize data processing performance by tuning Ab Initio graphs and components.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data quality and reliability.
Develop and maintain documentation related to data workflows, processes, and system configurations.
Assist in data warehouse development, including data modeling and schema design.
Ensure adherence to data security policies and compliance standards.
Perform root cause analysis of data discrepancies and resolve issues proactively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data migration and integration projects.
Stay updated with the latest features and best practices of Ab Initio and related technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
8+ years of proven experience as an Ab Initio Developer or similar ETL developer role.
Strong understanding of Ab Initio components such as Graphs, Parameter Files, and Metadata Hub.
Experience with data warehousing concepts and architectures.
Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
Knowledge of scripting languages like Shell, Perl, or Python (optional but preferable).
Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication and team collaboration.
Attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
Preferred (not required)
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Certifications related to Ab Initio or data management.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
