The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $31.47 to $34.07 per hour. The full salary range for this position is $31.47 to $55.12 per hour. Work Location:

Under the direction of the Business Officer, independently organizes, plans, coordinates and manages the department's academic merit and promotion review process and the faculty recruiting process. Oversees all personnel processes for the department, including visa applications, time/effort reporting activities, and faculty summer salary. Manages payroll and timekeeping processes for a wide variety of constituents including faculty, staff, researchers, and students. Academic Personnel Management (45%): serves as primary resource for academic personnel policy within the department; initiates merit and promotion actions; administers all academic recruitments; coordinates visa applications for visiting researchers; manages additional compensation and summer salary; provides training and guidance; ensures e-verify compliance; acts as Benefits Representative for academic appointments; advises on benefits and conducts orientations. Payroll/Personnel Processing and Timekeeping (45%): manages employment and payroll transactions (new hires, changes, rehires, separations, merits, summer salary, sabbaticals); ensures data accuracy and timely processing in UCPath; resolves pay issues; serves as Timekeeper manager for the electronic timekeeping system; trains users. Faculty Summer Compensation Administration (10%): coordinates summer employment activities, funding plans, and related actions in UCPath. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training 1-3 years administrative experience or equivalent training Demonstrated organization, problem solving, and communication skills Attentiveness to confidentiality Excellent customer service skills Ability to work effectively with all levels of the University community Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, internet and e-mail applications Preferred Qualifications:

1-3 years general human resources or academic personnel experience Experience with UC Recruit, UCPath, AP Folio, UC OATS, and Box.com Special Conditions Of Employment
