Tasting Room Manager – Full-Time | $25–$30/hour DOE About the Role
A highly regarded, family-owned Sonoma winery is seeking a dynamic Tasting Room Manager to oversee daily operations and hospitality for its tasting room. This role is an integral part of the team, responsible for leading a respected tasting program known for its hospitality and guest experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to thrive in a small, dynamic team, balancing management responsibilities with active on-floor hosting to ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional experience. Key Responsibilities
Lead daily tasting room operations to meet revenue goals, grow the wine club, and maintain the highest level of service. Oversee daily business functions including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and reporting. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; foster a positive and collaborative team culture. Develop and implement tasting menus and guest experiences. Manage staff scheduling, meetings, and communications. Ensure POS systems are functioning properly and troubleshoot as needed. Provide consistent on-floor management presence to support staff and guests. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and orderly tasting environment. Conduct inventory management and reconciliation of wine, merchandise, and food items. Track and report on sales, incentives, and wine club metrics. Collaborate with leadership on sales and membership strategies; represent the winery at industry events as needed. Requirements
Previous tasting room leadership experience preferred (Manager, Assistant Manager, or Lead). Strong people management and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail. Weekend, holiday, and event availability required. Must be 21 years or older and able to lift 40 lbs.
