Be among the first 25 applicants Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Risk/Policy Management in New York, New York. Work on a team dedicated to providing oversight and governance of risks arising from the Firm's investment management business activities. Support the various risk disciplines through data analysis and reporting, project management, and strategic initiatives. Regularly perform deep dives into the Firm's investment portfolio, ensure the Firm's inventory of key risks is up-to-date and accurate, and assess risks posed by the introduction of new products and strategies, including options. Contribute to the stress testing of funds to better understand risk profiles under different market conditions. Work closely with the Firm Risk Management investment risk team to investigate notable changes to investment risk profile of the funds. Create presentations that articulate key risks and portfolio changes to senior management in a timely fashion. Maintain active dialog with business unit, risk management colleagues, and support groups regarding business activities. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Responsibilities

Monitor cross-discipline risks; deploy risk metrics (risk measures, limits, VaR).
Contribute to funds stress testing to understand risk profiles under varying market conditions.
Collaborate with the Firm Risk Management investment risk team to investigate notable changes in investment risk profiles.
Create presentations for senior management to convey key risks and portfolio changes in a timely manner.
Maintain active dialogue with business units, risk management colleagues, and support groups regarding business activities.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Statistics, Finance, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Associate, Analyst, or related role.
Three (3) years of experience with: financial and non-financial risk identification, risk and controls assessments, performance analysis and reporting, and delivering presentations to senior management.
Two (2) years of experience with: analyzing large datasets; business intelligence tools including Tableau and Power BI; programming in Python and R; SQL; and risk management systems including OpenPages and Bloomberg.
Salary and Benefits Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $157,600 and $205,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
