We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately recording and reporting on all investment activity for five insurance entities. This role requires a strong understanding of alternative asset classes, including structured securities, private credit investments, mortgage loans, and derivatives.
What you will do
Prepare and review investment schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including the annual audit, investment footnotes and other off quarter filings Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement amounts Assist in the preparation of quarterly GAAP financial statements and annual statutory statements (“blue books”) Support the investment components of NAIC Risk Based Capital (“RBC”) reporting Support the annual AM Best Supplemental Rating Questionnaire process Collaborate with the Middle Office to ensure accurate trade recording Assist with interim and year-end audits Prepare and review monthly collateral reports for reinsurance counterparties Other duties and responsibilities as assigned What you will need
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 5+ years of relevant work experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Strong understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting Excellent time management skills and attention to detail Ability to build relationships with diverse team members Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Comfort with a steep learning curve and motivation to work in a dynamic environment
