Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Please note that the salary range referenced is a general guideline only. Salary differentials are based on multiple factors including (but not limited to), geographic location, education/training, years of relevant experience/seniority, merit, qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Position Summary:
The Senior Managing Trade Consultant is an integral member of the Mohawk Global Trade Advisory team (MGTA), a group of subject-matter experts who constitute the consultative arm of Mohawk’s international trade business. The Senior Managing Trade Consultant provides trade compliance-related expertise and compliance project leadership to meet the needs of Mohawk’s clients as well as oversight of a team of professionals supporting our clients’ import and export programs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of international trade professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and development. Client Support:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their trade needs and provide strategic guidance on compliance and optimization. Project Oversight:
Lead/Support and coordinate various projects, including HTS classification, compliance assessments, prior disclosures, AD/CVD, PGA support, and duty minimization initiatives. Hands-On Support:
Actively participate in project execution, providing expertise in compliance strategies, regulatory initiatives/questions and operational efficiencies. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all trade and customs activities comply with applicable laws and regulations, staying abreast of changes in trade policies and procedures. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze trade data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings. Prepare reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders. Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies that enhance our service offerings and strengthen our market position. Education and Experience:
US Customs Broker License required Minimum of 15 years of practical experience in import and export Customs compliance Other related industry certification(s) or license(s) are preferred (CCS, CES, CUSECO) but not required Bachelor’s degree in business administration, International Business, Supply Chain Management or other related discipline is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Expert knowledge of US Customs regulations and compliance procedures Knowledge of Export Compliance Regulations (EAR) and ITAR Knowledge of Participating Government Agency (PGA) regulations related to import compliance Knowledge of CTPAT Program and supply chain security procedures Working knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and Schedule B classifications Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills Knowledgeable in process improvement methodologies (six-sigma, lean) Highly organized Ability to lead a team Ability to work with individuals in a team structure Self-motivated and able to work as an individual contributor based on project Ability to work with clients and represent MGTA/MG in a highly professional manner Mohawk Global is an equal opportunity employer.
