Overview
The Lead Revenue Specialist manages all aspects of the financial inventory for a select group of strategic partners. The role involves full ownership of this portfolio through execution and management of WIP, billing, and collections. This highly visible role entails working directly with partners, practices, clients, and colleagues to achieve optimal portfolio management. The position requires an essential combination of service and operational excellence commitment, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, innovation, and tactical execution. Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Serve as the single point of contact for billing and collections for designated partners, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution. Coordinate the end-to-end billing process, including processing invoices, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely submission and payment. Interface directly with clients to address billing inquiries, resolve payment issues, and foster positive relationships to support timely collections. Offer guidance to partners and their practices on effective billing practices, compliance standards, and utilization of Firm resources. Identify inefficiencies in billing and collections workflows, recommend process improvements, and implement innovative solutions. Analyze billing and collections data to identify trends, propose solutions, and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle performance. Leverage analytics to monitor key performance metrics, provide actionable insights, and report on progress toward financial goals. Track WIP and accounts receivable to proactively address aging invoices and minimize outstanding balances. Partner with finance and administrative colleagues to address complex issues, enhance workflows, and improve financial outcomes. Build and sustain trusted partnerships with assigned partners, clients, and internal stakeholders. Ensure adherence to Firm policies and client requirements related to the inventory cycle. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff members as needed, sharing expertise and promoting a collaborative team environment. Complete special projects, requests, and other tasks as assigned. Qualifications
Education/Training/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job. Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience in billing collections or revenue cycle management within a professional services environment, strongly preferred. Proven track record of streamlining processes, implementing best practices, and resolving complex challenges, required. Experience in collaborating with senior professionals and external clients to address needs, resolve financial matters, improve processes, and ensure high levels of service, required. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with sophisticated financial systems, required. Advanced command of Microsoft Office Suite, required. Familiarity with legal financial software (e.g. Aderant, Elite, BillBlast), strongly preferred. Performance Traits: Innate customer service, innovation, and excellence mindsets. Meticulous attention to detail, quality, and accuracy in execution of tasks. Ability to build strong working relationships with partners, clients, and colleagues.
