Mayer Brown . The Lead Revenue Specialist (‘LRS’) oversees all aspects of financial inventory management for a designated portfolio of strategic partners. Serving as a trusted advisor, this highly impactful role entails full ownership of work-in-progress (‘WIP’), billing, and collections, ensuring exemplary support and effective revenue management. The LRS collaborates directly with partners, practices, clients, and administrative leaders to drive portfolio success. The position requires a combination of service and operational excellence, ownership, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, innovation, and tactical execution. Responsibilities
Serve as the critical point of contact for WIP, billing, and collections for designated partners, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution. Coordinate the end-to-end revenue cycle, including processing invoices, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely submission and payment. Interface directly with clients to address billing inquiries, resolve payment issues, and foster positive relationships to support timely collections. Offer guidance to partners and their practices on effective billing practices, compliance standards, and utilization of firm resources. Identify inefficiencies in billing and collections workflows, recommend and implement impactful process improvements and innovative solutions. Analyze billing and collections data to identify trends, propose solutions, and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle performance. Leverage analytics to monitor key performance metrics, provide actionable insights, and report on progress toward financial goals. Track WIP and accounts receivable to proactively address aging invoices and minimize outstanding balances. Partner with finance and administrative colleagues to address complex issues, enhance workflows, and improve financial outcomes. Build and sustain trusted partnerships with assigned partners, clients, and internal stakeholders. Ensure adherence to firm policies and client requirements related to the inventory cycle. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff members as needed, sharing expertise and promoting a collaborative team environment. Complete special projects, requests, and other tasks as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the functions of the job may be considered. 3+ years of experience in billing, collections, or revenue cycle management within a professional services environment, strongly preferred. Proven track record of streamlining processes, implementing best practices, and resolving complex challenges. Experience collaborating with senior professionals and external clients to address needs, resolve financial matters, and improve processes. Technical Skills
Extensive hands-on experience in legal/professional services inventory activities, strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Proficiency in legal/professional services financial software strongly preferred. Performance Traits
