Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25
ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time. Under the direction of Manager of Information Technology 1, SG-27, within the Dedicated Support Division, Worker's Compensation Bureau (WCB), the Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25, will be responsible for overseeing staff members consisting of both employees and consultants. The incumbent will be a manager over Azure environments for the OnBoard web application system and on-premises WCB servers and oversee deployments on all these environments. They will be overseeing the day-to-day support for the critical operations of these systems as well as managing the intake of new project and enhancement to this and related systems. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee and support to cloud hosted environments and related technologies. Triage, resolve, and communicate status of production issues and analyze system enhancement requests. Provide operational support and facilitate DevOps developers with their deployments and management of Azure and on-premises platform environments. They will need to be proficient with the following tools and technologies: .NET, NodeJS, NPM, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, PowerBuilder, UC4, administration of a Client/Server environment, GIT, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Power Shell. Provide technical expertise and oversight for WCB applications/forms including assistance with system analysis and developing system specifications. Evaluate proposed technical solutions for their ability to meet operational requirements. Perform all supervisory responsibilities and ability to mentor and facilitate the personal growth of subordinates. Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25 OR in a position at the SG23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.
