$120,000 - $200,000 / year Description
To contribute as a junior to mid-level fee earner within a high-performing disputes team, providing technically sound and commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of contentious matters. The role involves supporting senior lawyers while actively building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients and intermediaries, and consistently delivering exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities
Work on multi-jurisdictional matters involving complex corporate structures, offshore trusts, and insolvency proceedings, often in collaboration with international law firms; Conduct detailed research on Cayman Islands law and common law principles relevant to commercial litigation, insolvency, trusts and regulatory disputes, and produce high quality analysis; Prepare accurate and concise legal memoranda to support case strategy; Assist in drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and correspondence for proceedings before the Grand Court and the Court of Appeal; Participate in document review and discovery processes; Assist in organising evidence and preparing hearing bundles; Support senior lawyers in managing client relationships, including preparing updates, attending meetings, and liaising with international counsel and other professional advisors; Build and maintain productive working relationships with clients and other team members; Contribute to internal legal updates, training sessions, and knowledge management initiatives within the dispute resolution team; Contribute to the management and professional development of paralegals, article clerks, interns and/or legal assistants; Make a constructive contribution to the culture and pro bono activities of the Ogier Group; Stay informed on developments in the practice areas of the dispute resolution team including Cayman Islands financial services regulation, sanctions, and anti-money laundering frameworks. Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in law, ideally gained within a reputable international or offshore law firm; LLB (Hons) from a recognised tertiary institution, with a minimum 2:1 grade and a strong academic record; Excellent legal drafting skills, with a proven ability to produce clear, accurate, and high-quality written work; Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence effectively across all levels; Strong time management and organisational abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess complex legal issues and identify practical, commercially sound solutions; Client-focused approach, demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service; Collaborative team player, with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to contribute positively to team dynamics; Advanced legal research capabilities, with proficiency in using legal databases and resources; Advocacy experience is advantageous but not essential.
