How you\'ll make an impact
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This individual will: Direct development teams and drive the execution of the project schedule, scope, and budget throughout the project life-cycle. Lead the communication plan, facilitating project sponsor meetings, team meetings and status reports. Provide project presentations to executive leadership groups and review and input on project deliverables. Foster high reliability by initiating process improvement opportunities based on past project experiences and lead the business sponsor, stakeholders and project team to identify lessons learned and champion improvement opportunities. Execute Project Management and SDLC disciplines. Comprehend and Embrace the Project Business Case:
The PM should focus a project on the delivery of the business case, shaping the team\'s efforts to achieve a solution and a time frame that align with the business needs. Estimate Projects:
The PM should work with business resources, technology architects and other IT resources to create top-down and bottom-up estimates in hours and dollars. Plan Projects:
Prioritize efforts, secure resources from other managers and integrate those resources into a detailed work plan with tasks and estimates. Monitor and Communicate Progress:
Follow standard PM processes to keep projects on task and progressing. Report status to the team, IT management and business stakeholders with appropriate detail. Maintain up-to-date deliverables such as work plans and estimates as changes occur. Track and Manage the Budget:
Track financial status throughout the project lifecycle and escalate potential problems. Manage costs and resource allocation; analyze actual costs, time and scope against plan. Manage Issues and Risks:
Identify blockers clearly and drive issues to resolution, escalating when needed. Control Change:
Keep the team focused on the original plan and follow a rigorous process to gain management approval for changes requiring it. Communicate:
Work in a matrixed organization and align with the team, the business and IT management. Communicate across these audiences efficiently to align client expectations with project goals and objectives.
About You
JOB REQUIREMENTS: 7+ years of strong project management experience focused on organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors. 5+ years of managing Business Intelligence/ Data Warehousing projects. Advanced understanding of project management methodology, including issue resolution, risk management, detailed work plans and specifications, resource allocations and team meetings. Creative thinker who can adapt between strategy and execution. Experience in a data-driven environment. Experience or understanding of ETL. Comfortable working with MS SQL Server or other large database platforms; ability to query with SQL. Strong vendor negotiation and partnering skills with outsourcing/offshore development experience. Demonstrated effective relationship management and ability to influence key decision makers. Experience working in a cloud environment, specifically Azure is a plus.
