Accounting Manager
to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who wants to combine technical accounting expertise with mission-driven impact in education. This is a hybrid role based in Brooklyn, with an annual salary of up to $120,000. Key Responsibilities
Manage general accounting functions including GL maintenance, reconciliations, month-end close, and audit preparation. Supervise accounts payable and purchasing staff to ensure accurate and timely processing. Partner with leadership to prepare budgets, financial analyses, and board/oversight reporting. Oversee payroll cycles, employee onboarding, tax/benefit deductions, and payroll inquiries. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Identify opportunities to improve accounting and payroll processes. Qualifications
5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong knowledge of GAAP, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical and communication skills with attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
