A leading organization is seeking an experienced Information Governance (IG) Technology Manager to oversee the implementation, integration, and optimization of technology solutions supporting enterprise-wide information governance frameworks. This role ensures electronic records and data management systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with legal and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: Lead implementation and management of IG-related technologies, including records management, compliance, and data governance tools. Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to ensure seamless integration of IG systems across departments. Support the development and enforcement of policies for secure, compliant handling of electronic records and data. Conduct audits and system assessments to ensure regulatory compliance. Deliver training and support on IG tools and best practices. Evaluate emerging IG technologies and recommend improvements. Produce reports and performance metrics for IG systems. Manage vendor relationships to ensure high-quality technology service delivery. Contribute to broader IG strategy execution. Lead data analytics initiatives to support decision-making and operational efficiency. Assist in Master Data Management activities-ensuring data consistency, de-duplication, and enrichment.
Required Experience & Skills:
Proficiency in structured and unstructured data analysis. Experience with data governance platforms (e.g., Varonis, Shinydocs, ActiveNav 360). Strong SQL skills for reporting, analysis, and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of IG principles: data classification, retention, and defensible disposition. Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA). Experience managing content systems (iManage, NetDocuments, SharePoint). Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects with IT, legal, and compliance stakeholders. 5+ years in a law firm or legal services environment. Experience managing teams or leading IG projects. Knowledge of DLP tools, legal matter lifecycle, and metadata structures. Familiarity with legal tech integrations (e.g., billing, docketing, DMS). Background in change management or IG training. Experience with cloud migrations involving sensitive data. Relevant certifications: IGP, CIP, CIPP, COBIT 5, PMP. Bachelor's degree required.
Compensation: $130,000-150,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
