Drive the commercial growth of MATIERE PREMIERE across the Americas, with a particular focus on selective niche fragrance distribution, travel retail, and the management of a diverse network of partners in complex, multicultural markets. This role requires deep knowledge of local players and a genuine affinity for the independent luxury segment. Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Business Development
Implement MATIERE PREMIEREu2019s distribution strategy across North and Latin American markets. Identify and develop partnerships with niche fragrance specialists (distributors, specialty chains, concept stores, high-end department stores). Negotiate and manage distribution contracts and commercial agreements. Oversee Travel Retail in the region (duty free, airports, cruise lines). Develop market-specific action plans, tailoring strategies to local cultural and commercial realities.
Performance Management
Build and manage sales forecasts, A&P budgets, and P&L by country. Monitor sell-in and sell-out performance, ensuring product availability and retail execution excellence. Analyse results and propose strategic and operational adjustments.
Team & Partner Coordination
Lead and oversee local partners/distributors (depending on market). Coordinate commercial, trade marketing, and training initiatives with HQ teams. Work closely with finance, supply chain, legal, and communications departments.
Brand Representation & Influence
Represent MATIERE PREMIERE at key trade shows, launches, and industry events. Maintain a strong field presence to support openings, client visits, and market reviews. Keep an active watch on competitors, consumer trends, and emerging local opportunities.
Qualifications
Degree from a top-tier business school OR MBA / Specialized Master in international business, luxury marketing, or retail management. Experience
518 yearsu2019 experience in an international commercial role, ideally focused on the Americas. Proven track record in niche perfumery or selective luxury. Solid understanding of Travel Retail in the Americas (airports, cruises, border shops). Established network in premium/selective channels across the continent. Required skills
Strong command of distribution contracts, A&P budget management, and P&L oversight. Excellent negotiation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Natural leadership and the ability to manage diverse cultural, legal, and operational stakeholders. Preferred skills
Professional Spanish (spoken and written). Portuguese is a plus for coverage of the Brazilian market. Pay range and compensation package
