Principal Sales Engineer

– we’re seeking the most advanced technical partner for our prospective customers. This role sits at the top of our pre-sales function, delivering engaging, high-quality technical demos, addressing complex solution requirements, and acting as a trusted advisor during the evaluation process. While your primary focus will be pre-sales demos and solutioning, you may also be called upon to support existing customers with complex technical challenges when your expertise is needed. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned B2B SaaS pre-sales professional with lending or financial services experience, strong technical fluency, and the ability to communicate value to both executives and practitioners. What You’ll Do

Deliver World-Class Demos: Lead tailored product demonstrations for executives and technical teams, highlighting how The Mortgage Office solves real-world lending challenges. Serve as a Trusted Advisor: Partner with Sales to lead discovery conversations, address technical questions, and guide prospects through evaluation. Design Solutions: Collaborate with Product and Implementation teams to scope integrations, workflows, and custom requirements for enterprise prospects. Support Strategic Accounts: Occasionally assist Customer Success and Support on complex technical use cases post-sale. Leverage Financial & Analytical Skills: Apply advanced Excel expertise and familiarity with accounting principles — including mortgage calculations and financial analysis — to strengthen your ability to understand the platform and deliver impactful demos. What We’re Looking For

7+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, technical sales, or solutions consulting for a B2B SaaS product. Proven track record delivering technical demos and solution presentations that win enterprise deals. Lending industry or financial services experience strongly preferred. Strong familiarity with Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, financial modeling) and basic accounting principles. Advanced quantitative and analytical skills; comfort with financial and mortgage-related calculations. Ability to translate technical features into clear business outcomes for C-level and operational stakeholders alike. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with executive presence. Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and sales enablement tools. Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary of $100,000 – $120,000 USD, plus 15–20% annual bonus. $1K annual budget to spend on AI tools, training or related resources.
