We are looking for a highly skilled Optical Test Engineer to join our team and support the development, qualification, and production of PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) products. This role combines hands-on testing, packaging knowledge, LabVIEW automation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-performance, scalable, and reliable photonic devices. The candidate will contribute to both R&D test development and high-volume production support. Key Responsibilities

Test Development & Station Setup Establish new test stations and procedures for PLC and optical waveguide products. Develop and maintain existing test stations, including hardware, software (LabVIEW), SOPs, and SPC charts. Document all test stations (BoM, test software, release notes, schematics, GR&R, etc.). Plan and manage test development activities, ensuring timely delivery of test stations and upgrades. Testing & Data Analysis Take testing efforts for NPI (New Product Introduction) of PLC devices. Perform detailed data analysis on device performance and test station reliability, driving yield and efficiency improvements. Define, update, and maintain device specifications for internal and external use. Optimize testing efficiency and provide training to technicians. Production & Cross-Functional Support Supervise testing production lines, ensuring quality and throughput targets are met. Work closely with the packaging team on alignment, fiber attach, and assembly processes. Support R&D projects, production operations, and sales activities with timely technical feedback. Collaborate with other engineers to produce product drawings for both internal documentation and customer deliverables. Qualifications

Master’s, or Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Hands-on experience with optical testing and packaging (fiber attach, optical alignment, photonic module assembly). Strong proficiency in LabVIEW for automation, test control, and system upgrades. Experience with optical test instruments (OSA, power meters, polarization controllers, interferometers). Solid knowledge of optical waveguide circuits, light propagation, and polarization effects. Strong skills in data analysis (Python, MATLAB, or SQL). Excellent documentation practices and familiarity with GR&R, SPC, and SOPs. Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to collaborate with R&D, production, and sales teams. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in wafer-level and PLC device testing. Knowledge of database development and GUI design for test data access. Experience supervising production lines or leading technician teams. Familiarity with NPI processes in the photonics/semiconductor industry Call-To-Action
