Overview
Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Aerospace, on-site in Manchester, CT. Part of the Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten team, supporting two EAP sites located in Manchester and Columbia, Connecticut. The role focuses on leadership of manufacturing and project engineering teams to support a high-volume aerospace business and to align with site and division strategies. Responsibilities
Lead the Manufacturing and Project Engineering teams in Columbia and Manchester, CT to deliver high-quality technical support for the aerospace business, focusing on accountability, efficiency, and learning; support site and division strategies and initiatives. Create and maintain manufacturing procedures and processes; establish and enhance machining methods and tooling required for production; maintain accurate manufacturing standards. Collaborate with manufacturing operations to develop a world-class operating system. Identify capital requirements to improve current processes. Develop and implement a cross-training plan to maintain workforce skill levels (CNC programming, machine automation, sheet metal fabrication); conduct employee performance reviews and development discussions. Lead efforts to identify root causes and promote problem-solving, continuous improvement (Kaizen/lean); implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions; reduce scrap and rework costs. BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace or Systems Engineering or related technical field Six+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent Three+ years in a managerial/leadership role within manufacturing Ability to research, compile and analyze data for reports and decision making Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean tools and methodologies Experience in machining, metal forming or complex assembly is a plus Details and Benefits
