Overview
Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Aerospace role at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. Location: Connecticut (Manchester and Columbia). Responsibilities
Lead the Manufacturing and Project Engineering teams in Columbia and Manchester, CT to deliver high-quality technical support for the aerospace business, focusing on accountability, efficiency, and learning; align with site and division strategies and initiatives. Create and maintain manufacturing procedures and processes; establish and enhance robust machining methods and tooling for production; maintain accurate manufacturing standards. Collaborate with manufacturing operations to develop a world-class operating system. Identify capital requirements to improve current processes. Develop and implement a cross-training plan and maintain workforce skills (CNC programming, machine automation, sheet metal fabrication); conduct performance reviews and development discussions. Lead root-cause analysis and foster a culture of problem solving, continuous improvement (Kaizen/Lean); implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions; reduce scrap and rework. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace or Systems Engineering or related technical field Six+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent Three+ years in a managerial/leadership role in a manufacturing setting Ability to research, compile and analyze data for reports and decision making Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean tools and methodologies Background in machining, metal forming or complex assembly is a plus The Details
