As a Refrigerant Recovery Technician, you will generally work Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. However, flexibility is key in this role, as you will also need to be available for on-call shifts if needed, including overnights. You can also expect out-of-town travel at least 1 – 2 nights per month.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS OUR REFRIGERANT RECOVERY TECHNICIAN
In this role, most of your day will be spent on the road and at job sites. You will drive a company-provided truck to client locations, to set up recovery systems to pull refrigerants from units of all sizes. Some projects will be quick, while others may span multiple days and involve recovering hundreds or even thousands of pounds of gas. Throughout the day, you will handle and move heavy cylinders, connect hoses and recovery machines, and make sure every pound of gas is safely captured. Once recovery is complete, you will consolidate cylinders, complete labels, and log the details into your daily work orders. Between jobs, you will stay on top of truck maintenance, keep equipment clean, and submit reports and expenses. You will also interact directly with customers, explaining the work being done, answering questions, and identifying opportunities for additional services or buy-backs.
What we need from you
Experienced in the service industry or as a service technician
EPA certification (preferred, but must be obtained within the first 14 days)
CDL Class C license (preferred, but must be obtained within the first 90 days)
Mechanically inclined
