PROCUREMENT ENGINEER

is part of the engineering team responsible for sourcing, coordinating, and managing suppliers to fabricate prototype parts and tools and provide outside processing for Robinson Helicopter products. The Procurement Engineer is the critical link between engineering and the supply base, ensuring that parts are procured from qualified external suppliers and delivered on time to meet program requirements for quality, schedule, and cost. Responsibilities
Collaborate with Design Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to define technical requirements, optimize part design for manufacture, and develop clear statements of work for suppliers. Coordinate proposals and quotes from vendors for prototype parts to best achieve cost, schedule, and quality objectives. Coordinate with RHC purchasing department to place and manage purchase orders and manage vendor qualifications. Manage numerous suppliers and parts simultaneously, tracking progress, resolving issues, and following up to ensure on-time delivery. Manage change orders. Monitor supplier performance and provide input to resolve quality or schedule issues. Maintain awareness of local aerospace and industrial supplier capabilities and capacity. Provide regular updates to program management on supplier status and risks. Develop and maintain records of supplier qualification, performance, and compliance with requirements. Support continuous improvement of supply chain processes and vendor relationships. Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes including machining, welding, plating and coating (anodize, nickel plate, cadmium plate, heat treatment, passivation, etc.), sheet metal fabrication, and composite fabrication. Knowledge of local aerospace suppliers and their capabilities. Direct experience selecting and managing suppliers to meet quality, cost, and lead time requirements. Proficient with CAD and GD&T. Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously. Effective communication and follow-up skills with internal teams and external suppliers. Demonstrated self-starter with strong problem-solving skills. Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience. Experience in aerospace prototype development or similar high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ERP systems for procurement and part planning. Seniority level
