We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Systems Analyst to join our team, Controls Center within the Professional Engineering Procurement Services (PEPS) Division, responsible for procuring engineering, architectural and surveying services for transportation projects through professional services contracts.

Position Description

Performs advanced computer systems analysis work in support of TxDOT District/Division information technology systems. Coordinates work involving analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. Coordinates technical support and advice involving the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of projects/programs and/or systems. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Duties:

Supports the planning, design, developments, implementation, and management of PEPS Tableau and SharePoint initiatives (enterprise initiatives) Prepare charts, diagrams, and tables that depict the present and proposed systems in terms of costs, benefits derived, and tasks accomplished. Coordinates and maintaining technology road maps Coordinate projects that involve cross-functional agency systems Creates new standard reports; collaborating with end users to gather report requirements and ensure proper testing and validation Coordinates, plans, and schedules the installation or training for new or revised systems and defines business process requirements. Updates standard operating procedures and swimlanes Present information and keep PEPS informed of any changes/developments Designs, builds, tests, implements, and maintains both published and ad hoc reports in response to customer change requests Analyzes new or existing procedures and information systems for efficiency and effectiveness Oversees and/or prepares and defines the goals of the system and devises flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs Coordinates with users to identify system requirements, develop functional design specifications to meet requirements, and solve complex operational problems Coordinates requests or completes user security changes or additions and facilitates security authorizations for new users Reviews and analyzes reports and performance indicators to locate problems and corrects errors in a timely manner Writes programs and/or queries for spreadsheet or database software to create reports and import/export data Troubleshoots and analyzes technical problems associated with local applications. Perform other job responsibilities as assigned Minimum Qualifications:

Education : Bachelor's degree in computer/management information systems, computer science, or related discipline. Related experience and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for education on a year per year basis . Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Experience : 4 years systems analysis, application systems support, or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications :

• Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of experience in Tableau dashboards Good presentation skills Competencies:

Extensive knowledge of IT software and hardware development methodologies and standards Shows proficiency in using tableau dashboards Shows proficiency in using creating and maintaining SharePoint Site Maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups, both internal and external Using computers and applicable programs, applications, and systems Shows integrity and ethical behavior, respects confidentiality, business ethics and organizational standards Shows initiative and action beyond what is required to improve products or services; is self-starting and completes assignments independently without constant supervision

Expert skill in: Researching, analyzing, and interpreting policies and state and federal laws and regulations specific to functional area Maintaining effective working relationships with others Scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing computer programs/systems Troubleshooting computer systems Analyzing and organizing business and technical data Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools Sitting - prolonged periods of time Standing-prolonged periods of time Walking-moving on foot to accomplish tasks: long distance/from one work site to another Fingering-picking, pinching, typing; working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading Conditions of Employment:
