Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team in California. This role is designed for a resourceful and analytical individual who can manage property accounting workflows while contributing to broader organizational goals, including audits and operational optimization.
The Senior Accountant will support
property management and accounting operations
in a small and detail-oriented environment. Responsibilities include lease updates, tenant card reconciliations, tracking payments, CAM billings, property tax schedules, insurance renewals, and lender requests for property management functions. In accounting, responsibilities extend to ACH processing, Sage software setup, monthly journal entry updates, reconciliations, license renewals, and IT software management. Key Duties:
Property Management:
Lease abstracts, rent rolls, reconciliations, CAM billings, AR management, insurance renewals, property tax updates, and vendor documentation. Accounting:
ACH processing, Sage GL and reporting, loan interest schedules, depreciation entries, fee schedules, record reconciliation, and domestic/workplace software renewals. Year-End Tasks:
1099 verification and filing, tax record organization, and annual document storage/prepping for shredding. Back-Up Support:
Check runs, deposit accounting, PMR draws, tenant reports, filing, and mail logistics. Controller Assistance:
IT troubleshooting, lender/audit reports, and special projects, including tax season and annual audits. The role requires meticulous organizational skills, strong aptitude in accounting software (e.g., Sage), and collaboration across teams to support smooth business operations. Qualifications:
Proficiency using Sage 300 or Timberline. 2+ years of industry experience. Required Work Hours: Monday to Friday, first shift. The position offers competitive compensation with a pay range of $35.00 to $45.00 per hour.
