Overview As an associate director of accreditation, you will oversee workflows, timelines, and the accreditation calendar to ensure compliance with institutional (SACSCOC) and specialized accreditation or certification requirements (NAAB, CIDA, SCCHE, and NAIA). You will supervise the senior accreditation operations manager and the accreditation manager, directing the research, writing, and timely completion of narratives and support documentation. You will research, edit, and co-author accreditation reports and related submissions, and manage document storage, organization, and naming conventions. You will handle follow-up on compliance action items, with a focus on SACSCOC substantive change processes.

In this role, you will coordinate accreditation preparation sessions for faculty and staff and organize materials and logistics for onsite, offsite, and virtual reviews. You will develop risk analyses and other compliance-related assessments. Responsibilities include providing quality assurance and editorial support for university reports, communications, and strategic projects, and serving as a liaison between academic departments and institutional effectiveness during CIDA and NAAB accreditation cycles. You will support the vice president for institutional effectiveness by facilitating project management workflows and ensuring quality assurance.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidate The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional written, analytical, and verbal communication skills to engage diverse audiences. They also exhibit excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, the candidate has strong interpersonal communication skills, a high tolerance for ambiguity, and a willingness to travel to represent the university.

Minimum qualifications

Master’s degree

At least seven years of higher education experience, including active involvement in institutional or programmatic accreditation reaffirmation

Background in social science research methods

Experience or knowledge of art and design

Preferred qualifications

Direct experience with SACSCOC, NAAB, or CIDA

Certificates, licenses, and registrations

Valid driver’s license

Travel required

Less than 10%

Work hours The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
