Institutional Effectiveness Administrator
The Institutional Effectiveness Administrator plays a central role in strengthening the academic core of Virginia State University by supporting academic program development, policy analysis, and institutional effectiveness processes. This enterprise-level role ensures the strategic management of daily operations within the Office of Planning, Institutional Effectiveness, and Accreditation (PIEA), contributing to a culture of academic excellence, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance. The Administrator collaborates with academic leaders and university stakeholders to guide program creation, revision, and discontinuation processes, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, state approval requirements, and institutional goals. The role also includes leading policy development and academic process improvements that enhance academic quality and student success. This position is key to preparing for the University's 2028 SACSCOC reaffirmation and implementation of the 20252028 strategic plan, GREATER by Design. Minimum Qualifications REQUIRED FOR ENTRY: Academic process design and execution Policy development and implementation Project and workflow management Stakeholder communication and collaboration Regulatory and compliance literacy Institutional alignment and strategic planning support Demonstrated knowledge of academic policy development, governance processes, and program approval cycles. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex workflows. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, and staff. Experience implementing new administrative services, policies, or practices within a higher education context. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. *Virginia State University requires that faculty be appropriately credentialed to teach assigned courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. VSU demonstrates compliance with its Faculty Credentialing Policy #2301 for all applicable education, experience, licensure and certification requirements in the selection and hiring of its faculty. Additional Considerations PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Policy, Organizational Leadership, or a related field. Familiarity with regional accreditation requirements (e.g., SACSCOC) and state-level academic program approval processes (e.g., SCHEV). Experience with curriculum management systems (e.g., CourseLeaf CIM) and document workflow platforms. Understanding of academic catalog and faculty handbook management.
