is searching for a
Project Engineer
to join our team at our corporate headquarters in
Dallas, Texas. What you’ll do: Evaluate Railcar designs and products for compliance with regulatory and contractual standards in terms of material, stability, and performance Create new railcar parts and bills of materials for a broad range of uses including OEM new car production, TILX fleet maintenance, TRMO repair, and TRMS aftermarket sales Provide technical support to internal/external customers such as Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing departments Co-manage Base Car specifications and submit technical data packages to internal/external customers for New Car production orders Support TrinityRail Engineering process and workflow improvement initiatives in our Quickbase system Lead engineering projects through the creation of scope of works, budgets, and schedules Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, shop liaisons, vendors, and contractors 10-15% travel as required domestic or international Qualifications What you’ll need: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects of differing scale Excellent attention to detail such as the ability to find errors in drawings or in tables of data Knowledge of railcars, large assemblies, steelwork, and/or welding Experience using CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar programs Additional Software Experience: Autodesk Vault or CAD PDM, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office
