Overview

Principal Mechanical Engineer – Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT. Supports the Sentinel program. Base pay range: $86,600.00/yr - $143,600.00/yr. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, up to 10% of the time. This is a full-time position with standard schedule (9/80). What You’ll Get To Do

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating mechanical systems design. Evaluate mechanical systems, products, components, and applications by reviewing designs. Ensure product quality by reviewing mechanical designs and validating current standards are applied. Support delivery of Mechanical Systems design Technical Data Packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts. Support structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues. Develop and present design change requests, coordinate with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensure configuration control of the technical baseline. Identify risks and opportunities associated with design factors and execute mitigation or capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities. Develop and mature Mechanical System designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations. Benefits

Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; 1 year of experience with PhD. Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company. Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar. Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Ability to understand and interpret requirements. Nice To Have

Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing direction. Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills. Exposure to missiles program requirements and propulsion. Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX. Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM. Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009. Salary Details

Primary salary range: $86,600.00 - $143,600.00. The range represents a general guideline; actual offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Long-term incentives may be available for certain positions. Additional Information
