This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program. What You’ll Get To Do Responsible for overseeing and coordinating mechanical systems design Evaluating mechanical systems, products, components, and applications by reviewing designs. Ensures product quality by reviewing mechanical designs and validating that current standards are applied. Supports the delivery of Mechanical Systems design Technical Data Packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring configuration control of the technical baseline. Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities. Developing and maturing Mechanical System designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations. Principal Mechanical Engineer Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree; 4 years of experience with PHD Sr Principal Mechanical Engineer Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a Master's degree; 4 years of experience with PHD Required For Both Levels Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
