Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads the manufacturing engineering function to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production processes. This role drives process improvements, equipment utilization, and lean manufacturing initiatives to support both new product launches and sustaining operations. The manager collaborates closely with design engineering, quality, and operations to deliver reliable production capability and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
Lead the manufacturing engineering team supporting production operations Develop, optimize, and document production processes for machining, assembly, and finishing Drive continuous improvement for safety, throughput, yield, and cost Partner with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and efficient transitions from design to production Establish and maintain work instructions, tooling standards, and process documentation Manage capacity planning and equipment investments for scalability Develop and track manufacturing metrics to measure team and process performance Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for production issues Mentor and coach engineers to build technical depth and leadership capability Skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering 8+ years of experience in manufacturing Minimum 3 years of leadership experience Strong background in process development, lean manufacturing, and industrialization Experience with CAD/CAM, ERP/MRP, and data-driven problem solving Excellent collaboration and communication skills Preference for candidates who are involved and passionate about aviation Work Environment
Split between office and shop floor. Occasional travel for suppliers or training (approx. 10%). Seniority level
