Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that units are moved from point "A" to point "B" in a safe and timely manner, while following all company policies and procedures. In addition, this position is responsible for effectively leading team members in order to achieve daily goals.
Responsibilities
Primary
Effectively lead team members on bus, providing direction and assistance, in order to meet daily goals. Move vehicles to their proper location in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure drivers follow company policy and procedures. Ensure that all vehicles moved in the yard are moved in a safe and timely manner to their correct locations by Glovis standards. Willfully complete all tasks as instructed by leadership. Ensure they have their pull lists at the start of the day to meet production needs. Monitor shuttle drivers to ensure they are performing in a safe and efficient manner and knowing their whereabouts at all times. Communication and teamwork. Perform job responsibilities in a safe manner, following all company safety policies and procedures. Secondary
Communicate company guidelines and standards to the team members on the van, so they are aware of what should and should not be done. Ensure all team members on van are following all company rules, regulations, policies, and safety guidelines, including but not limited to proper dress code and items allowed on bus. Ensure all team members on van abide by the speed limit at all times, and are not conducting themselves in a manner that can cause damage to the vehicles. Report all violations to the supervisor. Communicate and work with internal/external customers, supervisors, and peers to accomplish tasks effectively. Coordinate and communicate with other Van Drivers to ensure everyone is working together to achieve the same goal. Communicate to the supervisor any problems that arise, that could hinder them from meeting the daily goal. Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Good interpersonal skills in order to work well as a team. Good driving record. Prior leadership experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret pull lists. Education & Experience
High School Diploma/G.E.D Must hold a valid state-issued driver's license without restrictions Physical Requirements
Drive Walk Lift up to 15lbs Carry up to 15lbs Push/pull Bend/stoop Climb Balance Kneel Squat/crouch Stand Working and Environmental Conditions
This position works in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting.
