Overview
Director of Carrier Sales/Brokerage Operations at Pacwest Freight. We are seeking a player-coach to scale our truckload brokerage by leading carrier sales and day-to-day operations, while growing and retaining revenue with shipper customers. You’ll own the P&L for your book and team, build repeatable processes, and drive margin through smart pricing, reliable capacity, and exceptional service. Responsibilities
Own revenue & margin: Set and hit monthly GP targets; manage pricing, mix, and lane strategy to expand contribution margin. Build & lead the team: Recruit, train, and coach carrier reps and operations staff; set KPIs, cadences, and career paths. Grow your book: Activate and expand existing shipper relationships; prospect and close new logos and lanes. Carrier strategy: Develop core carrier and dedicated capacity programs; improve tender acceptance and reduce fall-off. Data-driven management: Run weekly performance rhythms (pipelines, GP, service KPIs); forecast demand/capacity. Customer experience: Improve OTIF, visibility, and communication; lead QBRs and continuous improvement with key accounts. What You’ll Bring
Proven book of business: Active relationships with shipper customers you can develop and grow; history of producing meaningful, repeatable GP. New-logo acquisition: Documented track record opening net-new accounts and scaling lanes from pilot to core. Brokage leadership: 5–10+ years in TL brokerage with 3–5+ years leading carrier sales/ops teams; player-coach DNA. P&L & KPI fluency: Comfortable setting targets and managing to GP, margin %, load count/rep, tender acceptance, OTP/OTD, claims ratio, and DSO. Carrier network: Deep relationships across OTR, regional, and niche capacity (expedite, reefer, flatbed, intermodal/dray, as applicable). Integrity & compliance: Thorough knowledge of brokerage regulations and best practices.
