Position Overview
We are seeking a
Sr.
Systems Analyst
with strong business and data analysis expertise to support software development initiatives. This role requires 8+ years of hands-on experience translating business needs into actionable requirements, optimizing data workflows, and collaborating across both technical and business teams.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled at documenting current processes, analyzing data flows, and identifying opportunities for system improvements. This role requires advanced experience writing
Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria
to ensure effective communication with development and QA teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business objectives, operational procedures, and challenges to identify alternative solutions. Conduct studies and cost/benefit analyses of proposed solutions. Document user requirements, program functions, and process improvements. Review system capabilities, specifications, and limitations to ensure requested program changes are feasible. Translate complex business needs into detailed requirements, Epics, and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria. Document current-state processes, data flows, and pain points; recommend improvements. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to align business objectives with system capabilities. Create and maintain data-related documentation such as
data dictionaries, mapping specifications, and business requirement documents . Design and present visual data models and dashboards to communicate performance, trends, and project timelines. Lead workshops, requirements sessions, and data-focused meetings; capture outcomes and drive resolution of data issues. Candidate Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
8+ years ' experience as a business data analyst in IT with strong analytical and documentation skills. 8+ years
collaborating with technical and non-technical teams on complex data-driven business problems. 8+ years
designing and optimizing data workflows and management processes using modeling/mapping tools. 8+ years
writing Epics and User Stories, including acceptance criteria, to communicate requirements effectively. 8+ years
creating and maintaining data-related documentation (data dictionaries, business requirement documents, mapping specs). 8+ years
designing and presenting visual data models and dashboards. 8+ years
leading workshops, stakeholder interviews, and data-focused meetings. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience). 4+ years
managing multiple data projects concurrently. 3+ years
knowledge of
SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF eligibility rules , with ability to interpret/apply state and federal guidelines. 3+ years
experience interpreting and applying policy within an
integrated eligibility case management system .
This is a senior-level role suited for a
business data-focused Systems Analyst
