The Opportunity
Enel North America works with businesses and institutions to develop, execute, and refine a holistic energy strategy designed to achieve desired outcomes through a suite of solutions and services. Energy analysts are tasked with architecting these strategies, working with internal resources on delivery, and becoming an energy expert in their assigned region(s) and/or commodity. Successful managers have a firm understanding of market fundamentals, market drivers, renewable market conditions, generation footprint, regulatory environment, utility cost models, etc.
Successful candidates will be analytical, possess deep energy market expertise, provide thought leadership, and have strong customer presentation skills.
What You'll Do at Enel North America
Be the Go-to-Market expert in assigned region(s)
Work with internal Advisors and Energy Procurement Managers (EPMs) to deliver deep technical, regional, regulatory, and energy market expertise to a portfolio of clients
Regional Lead – Serve as the escalation point for regional issues that are not single-customer specific issues. Formulate recommendations to guide clients’ supply strategy in North American energy markets.
Educate and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders via written reports, conference calls and client meetings as needed
Analytics
Develop, enhance, and leverage existing internal tools to support and deliver customer analytics: energy budgets, variance to budget, savings from default service, tariff analysis, pricing indices, procurement summary analytics and more
Develop price forecasts and provide market analysis recommendations to clients
Identify market-derived buying opportunities and proactively inform stakeholders
Develop, enhance, and maintain models to forecast and analyze customer energy usage, spend, wholesale markets, tariffs, etc.
Thought Leadership / Market Intelligence
Write and report content on topics including fundamentals, price drivers, regulatory changes, etc. Act as lead author for respective region(s) and contribute to monthly, weekly, and ad-hoc energy market content
Monitor market conditions in assigned region(s) and proactively socialize opportunities, risks, and other notable developments
Collaborate with manager and Marketing to provide bespoke thought leadership to the broader marketplace via webinars, video blogs, and white papers

What You Have Accomplished
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or technical discipline
5+ years of professional experience in the US deregulated power industry
Knowledge of electric cost components, market dynamics, and RTO pricing in ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, or ISONE
Hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting energy usage data, electric tariffs and wholesale energy market data
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
Able to clearly explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Team player or independent worker. Takes initiative. Self-directed. Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with power price structuring, risk management, electric scheduling or forecasting
Experience in a client-facing role
Experience working with electric utilities
Experience with PowerBI or other data visualization software
Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python is a plus

What Enel North America Offers You The hiring range for this position is $90,000–$112,500 per year. For remote positions, this is based on national averages. California locations may have a different range. The actual range offered will depend on geographic location, internal equity, and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is one part of total compensation.
