Overview We are seeking an experienced
Controller
to lead the financial operations of our professional services firm. This role will oversee all accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions while serving as a strategic partner to leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of service-based revenue recognition, project accounting, and operational finance within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and billing
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis
Ensure accurate revenue recognition and compliance with GAAP
Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings
Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures
Provide financial insights and reporting to support decision-making and performance monitoring
Partner with leadership on strategic planning, pricing, and profitability analysis
Supervise and mentor accounting team members
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a controller or finance leadership role
Prior experience in a professional services firm is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and project-based accounting
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Deltek, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
