Job Title: Manager Data Center Operations (25035147) Organization: AdventHealth Information Technology Primary Location: AHS Solutions Center, 902 Inspiration Ave, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 Description
The Manager of Data Center Operations is responsible for the infrastructure of the Data Center, the daily operations activities supporting the Data Center, and the Business Technology Operations that monitors the enterprise systems, corrects issues and escalates critical events and ensures appropriate remediation. They ensure that infrastructure operating environments of the Data Centers are fully operational including redundancy in power, cooling, physical security. They ensure that all appropriate systems are monitored and issues directed to appropriate staff for resolution. They manage the Business Technology Operations Center providing Tier 2 support and Major Event Management. Responsibilities
Support and manage Data Center infrastructure and operations to ensure proper operating environments and equipment support, including racking, cabling, hardware maintenance and physical data protection. Ensure data center environments comply with HiTrust requirements, including appropriate disposal of equipment with data erased and secured. Set standards for Data Center infrastructure and environments; coordinate with internal teams; serve as focal point for user inquiries regarding systems use and capabilities. Lead and coordinate Data Center Operations activities, including remote data centers; provide senior technical leadership on Data Center services, products, and support. Perform capacity reviews and planning, analyze vendor proposals, maintain knowledge of vendor capabilities; oversee routine Data Center tasks to ensure quality processes, uptime, security, updates. Develop and review technical service level standards; monitor and report on Data Center systems and services. Complete projects on schedule; develop project plans and coordinate with staff to complete tasks. Work with leadership and regional staff to develop department, hospital, and project budgets; coordinate with other groups on installations, upgrades, or changes. Advise on administrative policies and procedures; maintain records; communicate with leadership and team members to guard confidential information. Provide backup technical and operational coverage as needed; learn business and application functionality to service client needs; assist in disaster recovery planning. Lead in the development of department policies and procedures; promote cost-saving opportunities and standards adherence. Leadership & Planning
Identify areas for policy change or development in support of future expansion; consider cost-saving opportunities. Report potential issues affecting system performance with recommended alternatives. Support training and continuous improvement; communicate effectively with teams; collaborate with AIT and hospital staff. Support other Data Center Operations members; align with corporate standards and seek improvements. Communicate professionally and consider others’ needs when resolving issues. Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills Required
High level knowledge of Data Center Operations and Technical Services; understand technology, processes and business practices relevant to role. Strong communication; ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; written and verbal. Develop documentation for new processes; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; operating systems. Analytical skills for incident root cause analysis; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently; quick learner with continuous learning mindset. Knowledge and Skills Preferred
Ability to work with people of varying technical abilities; understanding of project management methodologies; knowledge of Linux; project management concepts. Education and Experience
Education: College degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or 10 years of relevant experience; minimum 5 years in Enterprise Data Center Operations or equivalent; experience with monitoring tools and servers; data center cabling and power concepts. Preferred: 3-5 years as a Manager; 1-2 years budget and vendor management; hospital operations experience; SolarWinds; APC StruxureWare. Licensure, Certification or Registration
A+ certification recommended; Server+ certification; industry IT certifications preferred. Organization & Location
