The Department of Dermatology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are seeking an academic research dermatologist with expertise in translational science to join our vibrant and growing research community. The successful candidate will be an innovator in skin disease research, developing and applying novel methodologies to address high-impact questions at the interface of basic discovery and clinical translation. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, genetics and genomics of skin disease, cancer, immunology and inflammation, tissue engineering and regenerative biology, computational biology, and advanced imaging or molecular techniques. Candidates will be expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program and to foster multidisciplinary collaborations within the Department of Dermatology and across the broader scientific community at UT Southwestern. In addition to research, candidates will contribute to the department’s academic mission by mentoring trainees, supporting team science, and advancing knowledge that improves care for patients with skin disease. Education: MD or MD, PhD degree Board Certification: Board certified or eligible in Dermatology Licensure: Eligible for Texas medical licensure Demonstrated clinical excellence in inpatient, outpatient, and/or procedural Dermatology Commitment to the academic mission, including education, mentorship, and scholarly contribution Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment Record of scholarly activity in translational research and program development (commensurate with career stage) Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of research/vision statement, copies of impactful publications, and contact information for references.
