Location: Columbus, OH or Cleveland, OH or Hartford, CT | Travel: 30 to 50%

Role Summary We are seeking a Sales Director – Insurance (P&C) to join our growing sales team. This is a “hunter” role focused on new business development in the P&C insurance industry. You will proactively identify and open new accounts with mid-sized to large insurance carriers in the target regions, then transition those accounts to our account management teams for ongoing growth. You will drive the end-to-end sales cycle for technology services deals – from initial prospecting and meetings through pipeline development, deal closure, and handoff. KPIs include high client meeting volumes, robust pipeline generation, and successful conversion of new logos into long-term clients.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development:
Proactively prospect and hunt for new P&C insurance clients within the assigned region. Leverage industry contacts, cold outreach, networking, and market research to generate qualified leads and set up introductory meetings.
Sales Pipeline Generation:
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline. Drive a high level of meeting activity with prospective clients weekly and manage pipeline in the CRM.
Solution Selling:
Understand client challenges and position Celsior’s services (digital transformation, data/AI, cloud enablement, Guidewire services) as tailored solutions. Coordinate with pre-sales and technical teams for proposals.
End-to-End Sales Cycle Management:
Lead the complete sales cycle from first contact to closing. Prepare proposals and RFP responses; negotiate terms within guidelines to close deals that meet targets.
Client Handoff:
Ensure smooth handoff of new business to farming/account management teams with complete client context.
Market & Industry Engagement:
Stay informed on P&C trends and represent Celsior at industry events to generate leads.
Reporting & Pipeline Hygiene:
Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline updates and forecasts.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years in technology services sales or IT consulting sales, with significant focus on the insurance industry (preferably P&C). Proven hunter success and meeting/exceeding targets.
Domain Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the insurance domain, including policy administration, claims, underwriting, and digital transformation discussions with senior stakeholders.
Guidewire & Core Systems:
Preferably experience selling services around Guidewire (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) and related core systems.
Client Network:
Existing relationships with mid-sized to large insurance carriers in the region are desirable.
Sales Skills:
Strong consultative sales, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills for C-level and VP-level audiences.
Self-Starter:
High energy, entrepreneurial mindset, ability to work independently and collaborate with technical teams.
Results Orientation:
Data-driven with a track record of meeting activity goals, pipeline growth, and new logo wins.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (business, marketing, IT or related). Experience with Tier-1 IT services or large consulting firms is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Meeting Activity:
Volume of client meetings and engagements monthly/quarterly.
Pipeline Generation & Quality:
Number and quality of qualified opportunities; data accuracy in CRM.
New Account Acquisition:
Number of new insurance clients and initial revenue from those accounts.
Pipeline Conversion:
Win rate and speed from opportunity to close; successful handoff to farming with high client satisfaction.
Compensation & Benefits Base pay : $155,000.00 – $165,000.00 per year
Incentives : Potential earnings to 230K+ depending on commission, bonuses, and other compensation components. Pay varies by location and experience.
