The Mechanical Engineering group in the Shipboard Effectors Department is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a multi-discipline team to support design and upgrades of Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems. What You Will Do
Utilize strong mechanical hardware design experience with ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, and electronics integration Support all phases of programs from capture and concept development through production Develop technical solutions across the product life cycle, including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of electronics for multiple military programs Supervise definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, component selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout, and deliver the final technical data package Apply transition-to-production practices and lead a design release into production Track, report, and meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements (EV and EAC inputs) Prepare proposal inputs on behalf of the product area Provide technical conscience, ensuring product and process meet standards and requirements while removing roadblocks Work with minimal direction, defining technical objectives and meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets Lead a small team of mechanical engineers when required Interact with senior personnel and external customers on significant technical matters, often coordinating between organizations Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with at least 5 years of experience Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the design of electronics packaging for military, aerospace, or commercial applications Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T) Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance; U.S. citizenship required Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with ANSI drawing standards and/or first-order or structural analysis techniques Experience with design to military standards Strong technical background with high technical aptitude Strong leadership, project management, and subcontract management experience Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software Awareness of supplier capabilities or direct experience in manufacturing and assembly support for producibility Familiarity with design and manufacturing of CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, structures, and electronics assemblies Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering What We Offer

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. This is a good faith estimate for all experience levels.
