SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Catskill Central School District Position Overview

The Board of Education of the Catskill Central School District invites applications for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will serve as the chief executive officer of the district, providing visionary leadership and working collaboratively with the Board of Education, staff, students, families, and community to ensure educational excellence for all students. The district proudly serves families from the towns of Catskill, Athens, and Cairo. Key Responsibilities

Provide instructional leadership and strategic direction for the district Develop, recommend, and implement policies in partnership with the Board of Education Prepare and manage the district budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate staff to maintain high-quality instruction and operations Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including staff, parents, students, and community members Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Foster a positive school climate that values diversity, equity, and inclusion Lead district-wide initiatives for continuous improvement in student achievement Represent the district in negotiations and community relations Maintain productive relationships with local government, businesses, and community organizations Qualifications

Required: New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification Master's degree in educational administration or related field Proven track record of improving student achievement Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices Experience with budget development and financial management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Desired Characteristics Visionary and collaborative leadership style Strong commitment to equity and excellence for all students Ability to build trust and positive relationships Data-driven decision maker with a focus on continuous improvement Transparent and accessible communicator Dedicated to professional growth and innovation Community-oriented with strong local engagement skills Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary range of $180,000 - $195,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement benefits, and professional development opportunities. Residency is not required, but proximity to the district is essential due to the expectation of visibility and involvement in the school community.
