Prerequisites: Bachelor’s degree in biology with 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience Summary
The Protein Homeostasis Thematic Research Center (TRC) at Bristol Myers Squibb develops novel cancer therapeutics by engaging E3 ubiquitin ligases for targeted protein degradation. We are seeking a motivated Senior Research Associate to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment to develop and implement robust molecular and cellular assays to support the discovery of small molecules as clinical candidates, and execute in vitro studies to elucidate the mechanisms of novel compounds Responsibilities
Develop and implement cell-based assays to support the identification, optimization, and characterization of novel compounds Develop and construct cell lines and tools for mechanism of action (MoA) studies Design and execute experiments using expertise in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and assay development to support MoA studies Execute routine assays in a consistent and timely manner Document, analyze, and present data in an organized and timely manner Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in biology or related disciplines with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 1+ year of experience Excellent sterile technique in mammalian cell culture with at least 1 year of experience is required Experience with transfection, lentiviral transduction, CRISPR knockouts, and shRNA knockdowns is a plus Deep understanding with hands-on assay development or troubleshooting experience in at least one of the following techniques: Western blotting, RNA isolation and QPCR, Protein-protein interaction assays, Cell proliferation, viability, cell cycle, or cell death assays, Multicolor flow cytometry Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad Prism Ability to deliver high-quality data consistently, on time, and in an organized manner Strong attention to detail and motivation to learn Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment Key Criteria
No PhD Minimum 1 year of mammalian cell culture experience Proven ability to conduct assay development or troubleshooting in at least one of the following techniques: Western blotting, RNA isolation and QPCR, Protein-protein interaction assays, Cell proliferation, viability, cell cycle, or cell death assays, Multicolor flow cytometry Prompt consideration of partial technical match EEO:
