Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV. ECI has immediate openings for substation design engineers in any of the above locations. Responsibilities include the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. Engineering responsibilities include the development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications. Under the oversight and mentorship of a project engineer, design engineers assist in the execution of projects, including coordination, quality control and oversight of designers, drafters and support staff. Completion of specialized tasks is coordinated with ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration) and Transmission & Distribution Engineering. Responsibilities
Perform conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations. Coordinate material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. Develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications. Assist in project execution with oversight and coordination of designers, drafters and support staff. Collaborate with discipline groups for specialized tasks (Distribution/Transmission Studies, Grounding, Protection, Civil, SCADA/Communication). Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required; design engineering experience is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning; ability to work in a team; commitment to quality and accuracy. Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules; commitment to progress toward Professional Engineer licensure encouraged. Fundamental knowledge of power engineering principles and applicable codes/standards. Occasional travel/driving; subject to ECI auto-insurance carrier requirements.
