This is a crucial role on the IT team responsible for designing, operationalizing, enhancing, supporting, and innovating D4’s customer communication management (CCM) platforms, with a specific focus as the lead architect and engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise in document pre-flight, repair, composition, and transformation, along with a deep understanding of system administration, configuration, integration, automation, and operations. Responsibilities
Support the development, configuration, and administration of D4’s Customer Communication Management (CCM) platforms, including PitStop Server and similar tools. Design and maintain customer-facing documents, templates, and layouts with dynamic content and personalization. Optimize, compose, and transform documents for both print and digital delivery, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met. Integrate data from multiple sources (XML, JSON, SQL, flat files, databases) into automated workflows. Configure and maintain workflow automation, testing, QA, and deployment into production environments. Collaborate with project managers, analysts, developers, and stakeholders to define requirements, manage priorities, and deliver solutions. Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements or upgrades. Document technical architecture, processes, and best practices while staying current with evolving CCM technologies. Contribute to Agile delivery through sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Mentor and support team members while leading or participating in project teams. Qualifications (Must-Haves)
5+ years of hands-on experience with one or more CCM platforms. Strong background in document composition, layout design, and PDF optimization. Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts. Experience with system configuration, deployment, and production support. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Knowledge & Skills
Ability to translate business requirements into document design and automated workflows. Skilled at troubleshooting PDF, data integration, and system deployment issues under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills to collaborate with developers, project managers, and operations teams. Education & Experience
MS/MA in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of experience, 8+ years desirable, or comparable experience. 5–8+ years of hands-on, lead experience in CCM tools (e.g., OpenText Exstream, Quadient Inspire, Solimar, FusionPro, Crawford). Work Environment
This role is primarily office-based in a collaborative team setting. While the schedule is generally standard business hours, occasional after-hours availability may be required. Seniority level
